After starting his rookie campaign with Gene Gile Racing, 14-year-old Elijah Gile has joined Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports (KKM) to contest the remainder of the 2024 season with the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota.

Gile, of Phoenix, AZ, sees the move as an opportunity to learn from the accomplished drivers and crew of the defending Series champions.

“I am truly grateful to the Lord for providing me with these opportunities,” Gile said in a KKM press release. “I also want to express my deep appreciation to Keith Kunz and his team for welcoming me in to what I believe is the finest Midget program of all time.

“My primary objectives are to secure victories on the track and, more importantly, to enhance my skills with each race. I am confident that his collaboration is the optimal choice for my career as I cannot envision a better team or car to help me achieve these goals. The excitement I feel about driving a race car at this moment is unparallelled, and I am convinced that Keith and his team are the ideal partners to guide me on the right path. Lastly, I would like to extend my gratitude to my papa, Gene, for his role in bringing me to this point, as without his support, I would not have had this incredible opportunity.”

Kunz, co-owner of KKM, has won 17 national Midget series championships between Xtreme, USAC and POWRi – including the 2023 Xtreme title with Jade Avedisian. (Josh James Artwork)

Kunz and his 17-time national Midget championship-winning team have already produced two first-time winners this season and is confident that Gile will quickly fit into the the program, learn from his team members and get up to speed.

“Our cars are showing great speed, our crew gets our drivers comfortable in a short time,” Kunz said in the team’s press release. “I see Elijah knows how to win. He’s won Micro races and he’s already won a Sprint Car race at 14 years old. I’m sure he will be comfortable and up to speed in our cars at no time at all.”

Gile will make his debut with KKM driving one of the team’s Toyota-powered LynK Chassis cars at the next two Xtreme Outlaw races in Kansas – Friday, May 10 at Humboldt Speedway and Saturday, May 11 at 81 Speedway.

Tickets for both events will be on sale at the gate. If you can’t be there to watch in person, stream every lap live on DIRTVision.
