Chris Murray nailed down his second Xtreme Dirt Midget Association Feature win of the season at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday night. The win extended Murray’s point lead as he chases another Series title.
Nikki Ouellette and Keith Brown led the field to the green flag, with Ouellette jumping out to an early lead. Murray, who started eighth, didn’t waste any time charging to the front, moving into third place on the second lap when Ethan Durocher rolled over in Turn 2. Durocher was not injured and was able to fire the car and finish the Feature. On the restart, Murray powered past John Egan and Ouellette to take the lead, followed by Daniel Piastka and Will Hull, who moved into second and third, respectively. Neither Piastka nor Hull was able to challenge Murray. Ouellette settled into fourth and John Forlano fifth. The top five remained the same over the final 10 laps with Murray holding a comfortable 3.5-second lead over Piastka at the finish.
Heat races were won by Nikki Ouellette and John Forlano. This was the second straight race where Ouellette and Forlano won their Heat Race.
The next Xtreme Dirt Midget Association race is back at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday, July 26.
