1 MONTH ALERT: Xtreme Outlaw Midgets Return to Action With Spoon River Debut, July 19-20

Xtreme Outlaw Midgets racing at Farmer City Raceway

When summer break ends for the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota, Spoon River Speedway will welcome the premier drivers in Midget racing for a July doubleheader weekend.

The two-day event, Friday-Saturday, July 19-20, will mark the Series’ debut at the Illinois track.

Also, with POWRi co-sanctioning the event, both nights will count toward the Xtreme Outlaw-POWRi Challenge Series title, as well as the overall Xtreme Outlaw championship title.

The Series has already run five races in Illinois this year at three different tracks. Of those five races, there have been four different winners – Thomas Meseraull, Cannon McIntosh, Ryan Timms and Ashton Torgerson, who is currently the only repeat winner in the state.

McIntosh will enter the weekend as the Series’ points leader – 145 points ahead of Ryan Timms. He’s collected four wins, so far, this year – most of any driver – and has yet to finish outside the top five in 14 starts.

While this will be the Series’ first trip to Spoon River, Illinois natives Chase McDermand and Zach Daum, the 2022 Series champion, have both won at the 3/8-mile track. McDermand, who is still looking for his first Series win this year, has two wins at the track with the Deery Brothers USAC IMRA D2 Midget Series – both in 2017. And Daum has a national Midget win there with POWRi in 2014.
