Dan Piastka passed early race leader Keith Brown on Lap 7 and went on to win the Xtreme Dirt Midget Association (DMA) Feature at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday night.
Brown jumped into an early lead over Wayne Koehler as Dan Piastka came from the outside fourth row to move into second on Lap 2 and began to close in on Brown for the lead. While Piastka challenged Brown, a tight battle for spots was waged throughout the field. Chris Murray was the biggest mover, steadily moving from a last row starting spot into the top five by Lap 7.
Piastka took the lead from Brown on Lap 8 before a red flag on Lap 9 for a flip by Jacob Perry stopped the race. Perry was uninjured in the accident. After the restart, Ethan Durocher took second place from Brown while Murray continued his charge into third and eventually stole second from Durocher at the halfway point of the race.
The remainder of the race went caution-free, allowing Piastka to maintain his lead. Murray finished second, and Durocher rounded out the podium.
Heat Races were won by Keith Brown and Will Hull.
